Have you ever wanted to learn the basics of how a piece of fabric is woven on a loom and try making your own? This workshop is ideal for complete beginners or those wanting a refresher in weaving.
This Table Loom workshop will allow you to try weaving various weave structures on a pre-warped 8 shaft Table Loom and give you the basics of how fabric is constructed. You will be able to choose from a variety of British yarns in gorgeous countryside colours, to design and weave your very own piece of fabric which you can take home.

If you have had previous experience of weaving and want to take it to the next level, this workshop is ideal. The course maybe an intense 2 days, but the location and Rebecca will ensure it is a relaxed and enjoyable experience. This workshop is perfect for those who have some knowledge of weaving or have taken the Beginners Weaving Workshop and would like to learn how to set up a loom for themselves. It will be a fast paced workshop as there is a lot to cover within the two days.
During the Workshop, you will learn how to wind a warp and all of the processes in between to get the loom ready for weaving. Once you are all set up, the remaining time will be spent weaving your very own piece of fabric, using various weave structures. You will be able to choose from a variety of yarns to design and weave your fabric. There is a maximum of four table looms running per session so you will get detailed instructions, full attention and support when needed.
Day 1
The aim for the first day is to wind a warp using colours and a design that you choose. Once you have completed this, you will then put the warp onto the loom and prepare this ready for threading. You will then learn how to thread the loom, which can seem daunting, but you will be given hands on guidance to complete the process.
Day 2
On the second day, the morning will be spent spacing your warp out in a reed and then learning how to tie it on ready for weaving. The remaining time can then be spent weaving using your very own warp.
The course runs for 2 days at £275 per person. All materials and tools used within the session are included as well as a booklet with notes and technical information for you to take home.
The best thing you'll be taking home is your very own unique piece of handwoven fabric, created by you!
Tea, coffee and biscuits are also provided, of course! We will stop for half an hour for lunch, so please bring a packed lunch.
Available dates are shown in the online booking system below. You will be able to select and complete payment for the two days on the booking system and we will send you a confirmation email with details for the day and how to find the studio.
Please book the second date within the same week as the first, otherwise your booking may need to be cancelled due to the availability of the loom.

We are very excited to launch our new 8 week Weaving Course using British Wools in beautiful countryside colours.
Across the 8 weeks, you will get the opportunity to use one of our traditional Floor Looms, steeped in history and used by many Weavers to create beautiful handwoven fabrics.
You will start by planning and designing your fabric - this will be a checked design and we will be planning for a shawl/wrap/blanket that will be approximately 60cm wide by 2m in length.
You will learn how to create tassels using high end finishing techniques and learn how to create a beautiful piece of heirloom fabric.
Working at your own pace, you will then wind your warp, learn how to set up the countermarch looms and then weave your length of fabric.
There is a huge sense of achievement on this course - learning how the looms operate but also seeing your very own fabric being created with your own hands.
The 8 week course is £640 for over 30 hours of tuition with Rebecca.
The course will be on a Tuesday - 9.30am-1.30pm. Start and finish dates for the courses are as follows:
All materials are included and endless amounts of Tea and Biscuits!
We suggest that students take their own notes but a booklet will also be provided by Rebecca with an overview of the course.
Available dates are shown in the online booking system below.
Please select the start date of the course - this will show as 4 hours but will automatically book you in for the eight weeks (32 hours). You will be able to complete payment on the booking system and we will send you a confirmation email with details for the course and how to find the studio.

Rebecca was such a great instructor, very friendly and took us through all we needed to know to learn to weave our own fabric. The class was very intimate with only 4 students and also very informative but relax. I loved every minute of learning to weave with Rebecca and can’t wait to do more weaving over time.
I have recently taken part in a two day intermediate weaving workshop and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have learnt so much and found Rebecca to be an excellent teacher.
We had a fabulous morning on the weaving workshop. Everything was well thought out and explained clearly so it was easy to get started, really delighted with what I created. Being able to taking the loom and materials home was wonderful. Highly recommended.
