If you are ready to dive straight in, this workshop is ideal. The course maybe an intense 2 days, but the location and Rebecca will ensure it is a relaxed and enjoyable experience. If you would like to learn how to set up a table loom and see the whole process from dressing the loom to weaving, this is the course for you. It will be a fast paced workshop as there is a lot to cover within the two days.
(Formally the Intermediate Weaving Workshop)
During the Workshop, you will learn how to wind a warp and all of the processes in between to get the loom ready for weaving. Once you are all set up, the remaining time will be spent weaving your very own piece of fabric, using various weave structures. You will be able to choose from a variety of yarns to design and weave your fabric. There is a maximum of four table looms running per session so you will get detailed instructions, full attention and support when needed.
Day 1
The aim for the first day is to wind a warp using colours and a design that you choose. Once you have completed this, you will then put the warp onto the loom and prepare this ready for threading. You will then learn how to thread the loom, which can seem daunting, but you will be given hands on guidance to complete the process.
Day 2
On the second day, the morning will be spent spacing your warp out in a reed and then learning how to tie it on ready for weaving. The remaining time can then be spent weaving using your very own warp.
The course runs for 2 days at £275 per person. All materials and tools used within the session are included as well as a booklet with notes and technical information for you to take home.
The best thing you'll be taking home is your very own unique piece of handwoven fabric, created by you!
Tea, coffee and biscuits are also provided, of course! We will stop for half an hour for lunch, so please bring a packed lunch.
Available dates are shown in the online booking system below. You will be able to select and complete payment for the two days on the booking system and we will send you a confirmation email with details for the day and how to find the studio.
Please book the second date within the same week as the first, otherwise your booking may need to be cancelled due to the availability of the loom.

I had such a wonderful time on Rebecca’s two day workshop. Beautiful setting and surroundings and Rebecca was so helpful and patient in teaching me how to set up the loom, teaching different techniques for weaving patterns and just explaining everything in a way that made sense to me. It’s a lot to take in but Rebecca makes it so easy and such a fun experience - will absolutely be doing more weaving in the future. Highly recommend if this is a craft you’ve always wanted to learn, you’re in the best hands.
I so enjoyed my 2 days in Rebecca's studio learning to set up my table loom. She is a brilliant coach and teacher, was so generous in sharing her knowledge and experience to make the whole process enjoyable and productive. If (like me) you have done lots of lovely weaving courses where the loom is already set up, but then find yourself bewildered when it comes to designing a (simple) project, setting up your loom or even understanding the pattern books, this course is for you. I wish I had found Rebecca when I first thought about learning to weave. I left her studio yesterday feeling confident that I will now achieve my goal of being a weaver.
I have recently taken part in a two day intermediate weaving workshop and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have learnt so much and found Rebecca to be an excellent teacher.
