Bringing Weaving and Creativity to the next generation...
“Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun.”
-
Mary Lou Cook (1932-2016)
People have woven for thousands of years. It is one of the oldest crafts in history and has developed in many ways over the years. Not only are you creating a piece of cloth during the process of Weaving, it also allows the individual to explore their creativity and ‘switch off’ from the daily distractions around us.
Weaving is a great way to practice mindfulness and to help with mental health. It can reduce stress and bring a positive impact on a persons wellbeing.
"My Year 2 class had a very enjoyable session with Rebecca and it was a great opportunity for them to learn more about the art of weaving from a specialist and have a go at weaving themselves. The children's work was then combined to make a whole class piece of weaving, which we have had proudly on display! ’"

By bringing weaving to schools, it allows the heritage craft to continue by inspiring the next generation
We have always been passionate about teaching people how to weave so the craft can continue to be enjoyed and passed on to the next generation of Weavers.
However, not everyone gets the same equal opportunities therefore by bringing our tutorials into schools, it allows all your children to explore their creativity.
After teaching Weaving to children we have found that:
Alongside all these positives, we also want to show children how fabric is created and touch on sustainability and production in the UK.
Our package is designed for you to bring Weaving to your students in an easy and flexible way.
