We are proud to launch our new Frame Loom Weaving Kit which supports British Wool from small Producers and Farmers.
Our Frame Loom Weaving Kit is suitable for all ages, beginners and experienced weavers.A great way to introduce a craft to children, but also a perfect size to take your loom on holiday or even in a car on a long journey!
The kit includes a Frame Loom which is 40cm x 30cm wide, with a weaving width of 23cm. The best thing about this loom which makes it different from many others are:
We are supporting British Wool.
It has a heddle bar/reed which enables you to separate the warp threads to create a weaving shed to allow easy passing of the weft yarn.
You can wind a warp onto the loom and weave it to a length you desire; you could even weave enough for a scarf.
The Yarn in this kit is produced by 'Fibreworkshop' - Based in Norfolk, Jenn creates the most gorgeous wooly yarn using fleece taken from the Norfolk Horn breed. The yarn is spun in Yorkshire and then returned back to Jenn where she naturally dyes the yarn. You will receive five colours which will give you enough to weave a small starter project and some leftover! Please note that the colours may not be as shown in the photos - as the yarns are naturally dyed, it may be what is available at that time of year!
Also included in the kit is a printed instruction booklet, a vintage fork which you use to beat down the cloth and a bent tip needle (also produced in Britain) to help with the finer details. Videos can also be found on the website to help you on your weaving journey!
